Once upon a visit to Sephora, I happened upon a new product guaranteed to make my lips more plump and pink. I was intrigued, to say the least. You see, if there’s one thing this reLYME girl knows, it’s limp plumpers. I’ve tried them all. And though my pout is plump enough, I simply can’t get enough. I am so excited for the holidays! After exploring the neutral shades of foundation, I felt inspired to focus on something fun and colorful to pair with my festive holiday celebrations. What better way to brighten up my party look than with a fresh new shade of lipstick or gloss? Plus, gloss has always been the one vibrant staple in my otherwise meager makeup collection.

I have been faithful to the same product – Nars Lip Gloss in Talitha – for seven years. When my first gloss ran out, instead of experimenting with new shades, I went out and bought not just one, but two more of the same. And although the color looks great (and I’m still sufficiently stocked up), I know in my heart it’s time to update my look.

Already addicted to her expert advice and tips, I went to visit Sara Biria again, Sephora Pro Beauty Team member. Before we met up, I had decided I wanted to choose a subtle color that would be good for my everyday look. But when Sara asked me what shade I wanted, I heard myself blurt out, “Red!”

Sara chose a great shade for me that immediately grabbed people’s attention from the minute I left the Sephora store. But before I get into my experience next week, I would like to say good-bye to my old gloss. Nars Lip Gloss in Talitha, in all these years, I never strayed or even looked at another gloss. You have been the perfect complement to both my everyday and party looks. Even after seven years, people still compliment me on your pretty, shiny pink.

But I need to move on. Even though I love you, I’m just not in love with you anymore. (Actually, never mind, that excuse never works!)

Cameron Diaz has been adored by many people throughout the world. When Cameron Diaz first came out, it did not take her long to gain some fans that always adored her.Would you like that sophisticated look? In this world today, one of the best ways to wear make up would be the natural way. For lip stick, you may want to go for a pink shad, with light pink blush. I've raved about this in the past, but that was over the summer when the darkest place I was applying my gloss was by dwindling sunset on a patio (pool party!).  Now it's winter.  Meaning touch-ups in the car are no longer happening past 5 p.m.

Here, Jen's tips and product suggestions:

Eyes:

Clear skin:
I love to start off with the gloFace primer.  This creates a perfect smooth canvas before applying foundation.  The gloSheer tint base provides with just enough coverage to even out my skin but still allows my natural skin tone to shine through.  gloCream blush in guava applied to the apples of my cheeks gives that healthy, flushed look of being outdoors in the wind.  To really brighten up the skin, I use the gloShimmer brick in gleam. It adds the perfect luster to my skin. Don't forget to set the makeup with gloHydration mist.  It will keep the colors on all day and keeps the skin hydrated.

Lips:
Lips just need to look soft and sheer.  I use gloLiquid lips in pink ginger.  It adds the right amount of pink and shimmer for a beautiful pretty lip.

Target (they of the red & white logo), surveyed women to find out what we already know: Girls and guys alike love red lips. But seriously, we knew that.

Red is a power color. Want an instant boost of confidence? Slick on something crimson. Target found that more than 60 percent of women and men think that when a woman adds an extra punch of color to her beauty palette, she’s signaling that she feels fabulous about herself – and after all, added confidence is the ultimate accessory.

Additional Target poll findings:

o Almost 40 percent of women who wear red lipstick do so to feel feminine, while 37 percent do it to feel sexy.

o To dress up an outfit, 44 percent of women wear high heels and 61 percent get their hair done.

o The majority of men and women polled (33 percent) named Angelina Jolie as the celebrity who has the most sought-after red lips. I ask: Did they need a poll for that?

o 61 percent of respondents perceive wearing red on lips or nails as neither “naughty” or “nice” – showing that there are no stereotypes associated with this versatile shade.
