The kids aren't alright. This article gets the history right, but all the whipper-snappers they seem to talk to are nuisance emo kids or self-important melodramatics with monickers like "Nocturne Midnight". Reminds me of some people I know, actually. Especially the bit about the silly looking poorly blended whiteface that stops at the jawline *cough*.

Apparently in japan they use glue on their eyelids to make them look more like western eyes. This video, with the gluing and the eye-poking, is rather disturbing.
